Do you value your properties safety?

With the dark nights of the autumn and winter coming fast, the most recent figures for burglary in England and Wales make the need for upgrading door and windows essential, according to Copperfield Windows.

Statistics from the Office for National statistics for the year April 2015 to March 2016 recently released that for every 1,000 households in England and Wales, 29, were the victims of burglary.

With a huge 701,000 burglaries reported during the same period, Craig Smith, Managing Director of Copperfield Windows, debates home owners can’t afford to become complacent about the security of their properties.

Craig, said: “We all tend to think of an ‘Englishman’s home’ being their castle’ but for far too many homeowners that’s far from the situation.

“Insecure doors and windows are more than welcoming to burglars, with most of the burglaries committed by forcing old rotten or poorly maintained windows, or through a kick to an old PVC-U panel door.

“This is why going into these cold months really does pay to think about the security of your home.”

Copperfield offers anti-bump, anti-pick and anti-drill options as standard on all of the doors in which they supply.

Along with multi-point locking, ultra-tough and durable high security composite door ranges are designed to keep burglars firmly on the outside.  This includes SS312 Sold Secure Diamond rating and TS007:2012 British Kitemark - 3 star rating options.

Windows also feature multi-point locking mechanisms and hardware reinforcements, scaring away even the most determined burglar.

Craig, added: “If your doors and windows are older or in a poor state of repair now is the best time to replace them with high security windows and doors.

“They’ll help to keep burglars out but far more energy efficient, new security windows and doors will also help to keep your home warmer, reducing heating bills right through the winter.”
